REGULAR MEETING OF THE HOUSING AUTHORITY

OF THE CITY OF MIDDLETOWN

MAY 17, 2012

The resecheduled  Monthly Meeting of the Housing Authority of the City of Middletown was held at the Senior Center Meeting Room, 150 William Street, Middletown, Connecticut on Thursday, May 17, 2012.

Chairman Osborne called the meeting to order at 3:13 p.m. and called the roll.

PRESENT: Lee Osborne, Chairman; Evan Noglow, Commissioner (phone); Izzi Greenberg, Commissioner

ALSO PRESENT:  William Vasiliou, Secretary; John Rumberger, Facilities Manager 

ABSENT: Sebastian J. Santacroce, Commissioner; (excused absence)

PUBLIC SESSION: None

FOLLOW-UP REPORT: None

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: On motion by Commissioner Noglow, seconded by Commissioner Greenberg; it was unanimously voted to approve the minutes of the April 5, 2012 annual meeting as submitted. Commissioner Greenberg abstained from the vote.

Commissioner Greenberg requested a correction of the spelling of her name in the April 9, 2012 monthly minutes. On motion by Commissioner Greenberg, seconded by Commissioner Noglow; it was unanimously voted to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2012 monthly meeting as corrected.

APPROVAL OF BILLS: On motion by Commissioner Greenberg, seconded by Commissioner Noglow; it was unanimously voted to approve the bills as submitted.

OLD BUSINESS: None

NEW BUSINESS: Mr. Vasiliou submitted the contract between MHA and Attorney Boccalatte for legal services. On motion by Commissioner Noglow, seconded by Commissioner Greenberg; it was unanimously voted to adopt Resolution 2012-9 and waive reading of same.


RESOLUTION 2012-9

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Middletown that its Chairman be and is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for legal services with Attorney John L. Boccalatte for a period of two (2) years from the 1st day of April 2012 to the 31st day of March, 2014 at the monthly rate of Two Thousantd Three Hundred ($2,300) Dollars and other compensationa s defined by the contract.

Mr. Vasiliou informed the Board that Tenant Commissioner Lois Carreiro has resigned her position and has moved out of state as of May 15, 2012. The Mayor will now be responsible for appointing a new tenant commissioner to fufill her term.

There being no further business to come before the Commission, on motion by Commissioner Greenberg, seconded by Commissioner Noglow; it was unanimously voted to adjourn the monthly meeting at 3:23 p.m.
